I actually use this method on all my breaks and a lot of other stuff i 
compress. However,I use a slightly different approach. I tap my Mackie's 
inserts and route them to the compressor. The I run another channel of the 
same break out of my soudcard. I use the Mackie's fadrs to adjust the mix of 
the compressed and uncompressed signal. Usually I favor the highs and 
mid-highs of the uncompressed signal to bring out the attack. werks for me.
