A solution was given for moving signed glue to its own sub zone. I understand you don't think that solution works for you. That is fine.
But that makes the false assumptions that there is a problem to be solved, and that glue is the only thing other than NS found in TLD zones.
I think there could be TLDs and SLDs that want to deploy this single > bit.
Could you identify the TLDs, please? The TLDs I have talked to have shown no interest at all in this hack.
If you want to stop wasting time, you could just let those who want it have the code point.
