I think there can be a fair amount of cross-pollination. Hopefully, we can work together to provide not just the tools, but also (perhaps "unofficial") guidance on how to write useful articles, and how to design them (using the Style Guide) to make them clear, easy to follow, etc. I haven't read the whole thread on the proposal yet, but there is mention of at least one thing we haven't addressed. That is the need for such articles in people's native languages. We sort of skirted around this when I asked my question about the US English, but we never (partly my fault) gnawed on the bone for any length of time. I guess the simple question would be, is OpenSolaris part of Sun's official Business Plan, and if not (since Sun is making support contracts, hardware,, etc. the means Sun uses to make money) is US English a legal requirement for OpenSolaris under Sun's legal statutes? I'm guessing not (which opens possibilities), but I'm not a lawyer, especially not in the US (as each country has its own legal pecadillos). Luckily, I think most aspects of the Style Guide will be applicable regardless what language a document is in. Rainer This message posted from opensolaris.org
