Sorry, scratch that last comment. Just skimming through the rest of the chapter, I'm thinking the whole thing might be better suited in the Audience Aalysis chapter. This should probably be renamed to something that more accurately describes the functions of analysing your audience, and then structuring the document to suit (and thinking about the kinds of elements it may include/need). The C&R chapter is really aimed at someone coming in after the fact and rewriting a document given them (for example) by engineering.
Since TSG's new focus will be targeted largely to original authors, I'd like to recomment the consolidation of the Audience Analysis and Checking And Reviewing chapters into something specifically targeting the goals of this OpenSolaris project/discussion group. How do others feel about this? Does my proposal make sense? I'm not wanting to drop a huge pile of work on Michelle; I'm willing to help do this if everyone agrees it has merit.
