I would be interested in the details, if you have the time. I'm not much of a programmer these days. I used to be so-so in C (nothing too complex), but haven't had the time to keep up with it. In fact, I agree with your C++ comment if for no other reason than I can't get my head around Object Oriented programming. It's been a few years since I've done anything beyond shell and Perl scripting (I'm a Solaris admin).
Keeping in mind that I'm not a programmer, I'm willing to spend some of what little time I have on this if you think it is worth the effort. I can't comment too much on the usefullness of XaraLX over ImageMagic and GIMP for writing documentation (images, flow charts, etc.) other than what I've read elsewhere, since I've never seen it. Also, it's been ages since I used ImageMagic (found it pretty minimalist), and I avoid GIMP because I find the interface too non-intuitive (and for doing my photographs, I need the colour profiles capabilities in PhotoShop). For me, this is a hunt to find better open source tools to do the non-text editing functions needed for creating documentation. Rainer This message posted from opensolaris.org
