I'm a landscape architect/urban design (MLAUD Harvard) and have been writing reports for government and articles for journals for over twenty years. In addition I was a thesis marker for BA students for 7 years; I've done a lot of reviewing and editing. With my background in architecture, understanding and describing how to put things together are just part of the job.
