All, Thanks for the help, During the rebuild the valves were ground but not replaced. According to the rebuilder he says these valves or others like them in hondas have an issue where they may chip and then break a portion off completely. I did not see any evidence of interference. Oddly though the valves had a lot of buildup (carbon i think) on them but the piston was only slightly discolored. Other pistons had slight carbon buildup on the pistons but none on the valves. The rebuilder did not offer to rebuild. I have had work done by him in the past and have not had issues so I am on my own on this one. Should I pull the piston for the bad cylinder and check for broken rings? I guess what I am asking is did the oil burning cause the valve problem or did the valve problem cause the oil burning?
Again, thanks for the help, Coy >From: "Darkpaw Timberwuf" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: RE: [dodge_intrepid] 1999 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 >Date: Wed, 27 Oct 2004 21:47:20 -0300 > >I'm blushing.... :) > >Anyways, I would first suspect a bad rebuild and an incorrectly >seated ring.
