55 is "END OF TEST" 32 indicates a problem in the Exhaust Gas Recirculation system. To reduce combustion temperature and thus reduce oxides of nitrogen in the engine's emissions, the EGR system injects a small amount of exhaust gas into the incoming air. This is controlled by the powertrain computer via an electrical solenoid and a valve. Often on a high-mileage car the valve gets plugged up with exhaust gas deposits and needs to be removed and cleaned. In bad cases it gets stuck and may need to be replaced.
