First off, these trannies do not take "differential fluid" for them. The fluid for the differential is taken from the tranny fluid (ATF+4 only!). The later models with AWD use differential/gear oil in the transfer case, but only the transfer case up front....the front differential still just
uses ATF+4. So don't use gear oil... Most of the other stuff is indeed not too difficult. Timing belts are always tricky if you're not used to doing them yet. I don't recommend getting a Haynes, though...get the factory service manual if you are planning on doing your own work that is this in-depth.
