I never had a problem with those skimpy donut wheels.  And you can 
drive on them 80 mph for long periods of time.  Those 50 mph max speed 
warnings are only lawyer rules.  

If used in the front, it does work the differential much more than it 
should, but unless you go thousands of miles like that it will not be a 
problem.

I find that I have to put air in my full size spares every so often, 
but in my lifetime I had to pump up a donut wheel ONCE.  But that car 
was beat up and god knows where things have been.

It sucks to find that your spare is flatter than the tire being 
replaced.  I keep forgetting to keep air in them.
