What they do have in common is the they are both large front wheel 
drive cars.
I don't think you can compare the Intrepid to the Impala/Lumina or 
the Tarus because of size. So the LaSabra size platform is the 
closest to size.
You are correct on some of your points about the 90's buick, what 
about the 2000 thru 2006 LaSabres/Bonneviles?
I say you can only compare the 3.5 vs. the 3.8  the 2.7 isn't in the 
same leage.
