Hi Neville.
The landing lights were an option.
I removed them and glassed the holes over. Less weight.
The weights I gave you were with aircraft which had the wing lights and strobe
fitted.
VH GYT was the same light configuration.
I have an Odyssey battery (sealed) which is 18AH and works well. Has a good
cranking amp rating.
>From memory it weighs about 7KG.
Not cheap but about a 7 year life. Ours is now over 5 years old and going
strong. It will be interesting to see how long it goes for. I know many people
who use them and are happy with them.
They are also popular in the Taxi industry which says something.
Aircraft Spruce stock them but I am sure you would find them represented in
Kiwi Land
Cheers.
Nige.

  Thanks for your suggestions Nigel.

I do have an A.H.which I had planned to take out, but not a D.G.,also have
the coconut husk seats. Have checked behind the panel at rear of baggage
shelf and no sign of any box. The battery is a 30A/H wet cell. There is a lot
of unused wiring and connectors which obviously fed previously installed
instruments, D.M.E.,Vor Loc, Nav Loc and Ferncompass (?).

Unfortunately I only have a log book covering the last 10 years so do not
know the full history but there are no signs of any major repairs. The finnish
is in very good condition, so a repaint is a possibility.

It has the twin landing lights, nav lights and fin top mounted strobe which,
I presume, are factory standard.

  I agree that a re-weigh is definitely a must.

  Regards,

  Neville.
