Hi Laurie,

Hope all is OK with you.

Sorry about the lack of contact over the last 3 mths or so but I have been
really busy with ‘proper” work, plus my wife and I have had our first holiday
in 15 years … went to Japan. (was there when you were at the Warbirds show at
Wanaka)

Neville and I know each other well. I guess I could lay claim to have had just
a little influence in Neville’s decision to buy a Dimona.

Also the Grob 109’s engine change has taken a long time. It is now complete
(except final CAA rubber stamp) and I have done about 10 hrs test flying …. It
has turned it from a poor performing anything into a reasonably good little
aeroplane. …. Hasn’t improved its gliding performance though. I am totally
happy with the little L2400 engine.

I am currently finishing a job in Oz (Lara) and would really like to check out
Baccus Marsh as I think there is a Dimona there …. Would just like to sit in
one to check it out. I did spend a day with the Legend … Macca but his
machine was out of the air and in bits.

Really looking forward to getting back into working on Dave M’s Dimona. It
seems the engine is actually a spare that was included in the Thai’s shipment
as it is really crappy on the outside but inside is 100% … still has the
running in oil in it.

Best regards

Ian W.

Hi Neville,
You would probably know of the Dimona that Ian Williams is rebuilding near
Auckland Gliding Club.

Thanks Laurie.

I am in West Auckland, near the Whenuapai Air Base ( where I fly).

Neville.
