Hi Nige. I did wonder about removing the landing lights but wondered whether it would be permitted.
Yes I know of the Odyssy battery, it certainly has a very good reputation and is currently on sale in the US for US153, the equivalent here is about NZ350. You are correct in that it weighs 7kg but the battery I have (lead acid, 30AH) only weighs 1kg more, so would not help an awful lot. Have now had a good inspection and I am fairly certain that the aircraft has been repainted at some time, so this could be part of my 'overweight' problem. Cheers, Neville.
