That's a question we were all asking in the 60's and 70's.
I'm Scott Day and I'm 45. I live in Jefferson, Maryland with my beautiful
wife of 8 years Ellie. We have 3 children living with us (14,16,20) and my 2
who live in North Carolina (16,21). I'm a civilian employee of the Navy as a
Mechanical Designer though my real passion is music. I lead the worship at
our church which in our case includes a band where I play guitar and we have
a keyboard, bass, drums, percussion and several singers. My dream has been to
add another drummer in the mold of my all time favorite band, but, though the
church is a good size, they're not ready for that yet. You can read more info
and see pictures (including Doobie ones) at my website:

I first fell in love with the Doobies in 1973 just before I graduated high
school. I already liked "Listen To The Music" and "Jesus Is Just Alright" was
hot on the air waves. My very first band learned that song and I sang it.
Then "The Captain And Me" came out and I was hooked for life. I remember
promising myself at that time that I would buy everything they ever put out
for the rest of my life. I've remained faithful to that promise. I saw the
Doobs live for the first time in November of 1974 at the Capital Center
outside Washington, D.C. The warmup band was the Earl Scruggs Review. The
Doobies were absolutely awesome. At that time "What Were Once Vices Are Now
Habits" had been out for awhile. I've never seen more excitement in a rock
concert than the Doobs put out when they did "Without You" with the smoke and
the fireworks. There has never been a more powerful concert song. I didn't
see them again until 1981. Then again in 1994 and 95 (I think). Finally, I
saw them last September in York, PA and, due to the wonderfulness of our
beloved fan club president and Torrey, got to finally meet the Doobs after
the show. I got to meet Jay Leno on the set of the Tonight Show last March,
but that was NOTHING in comparison to meeting the Doobs especially my all
time favorite Doobie, Pat Simmons. My life is now complete.......well not
really.
I've been a fan club member since September and one day I'm going to make
it to a fan club convention, though it doesn't look like this year will be it.
