They come in 2 types: good & cheap.
The cheap ones use a small fan and a thin piece of foam. The filter
part isn't very effective. Their main benefit is pulling the smoke
away, so you're not breathing it directly, which actually helps quite a lot.
The good ones use proper 3 stage filters and power fans. They're very
