Most places I've set up a regular day-to-day soldering station I've just
done some 4" duct with a tubeaxial fan outdoors (or tie into a bathroom
vent). They even make those variable speed controllers so you can dial back
the speed. Fans are cheap on Amazon and E-bay.

I use a Fumex at work (

and it works great (a little loud though).
