It is with great regret that I have to report that Chris Smithies lost his
battle with cancer at around midday yesterday. This outcome had been widely
expected, but it is still a shock when it comes to pass.
Chris has been a regular at the Meetings for some time and was well known by
those who also attended. In addition to his career in software development,
Chris was also an accomplished musician and campanologist.
He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
Please pass on all of our condolences to his family. He was an
intelligent contributor and always interesting to listen to.
