This is very sad news indeed. Weirdly enough, I don't remember that conversation Ralph is referring to! But I do remember many conversations about languages and etymology.

He knew a bit about languages too, I don't know if due to a classical education, and we'd often touch on some bit of etymology, or how to say a Latin phrase. I remember one amusing evening where a polite disagreement ensued over how and why a bit of French should be pronounced, with Natalie. :-) Cheers, Ralph. -- Next meeting: Bournemouth, Tuesday, 2017-01-03 20:00 Meets, Mailing list, IRC, LinkedIn, ... http://dorset.lug.org.uk/ New thread: mailto:[email protected] / CHECK IF YOU'RE REPLYING Reporting bugs well: http://goo.gl/4Xue / TO THE LIST OR THE AUTHOR -- Next meeting: Bournemouth, Tuesday, 2017-01-03 20:00 Meets, Mailing list, IRC, LinkedIn, ... http://dorset.lug.org.uk/ New thread: mailto:[email protected] / CHECK IF YOU'RE REPLYING Reporting bugs well: http://goo.gl/4Xue / TO THE LIST OR THE AUTHOR
