Yes. But only in the aforementioned eBooks folder in my home directory.
They will probably be *.pdf or *.epub. ‘file foo.pdf bar.epub’ will
confirm they're the type of file suggested by their name. ‘firefox
foo.pdf’ will display the PDF in Firefox. ‘mupdf bar.epub’ displays an
EPUB. This will show you still have the original files so don't need to
get them again.
They vary between .mobi, .epub and pdf. The problem is that when I try
to Add them to Calibre, they still don't open. I'm wondering if I
should completely remove Calibre and re-install it.
Then it ‘just’ becomes a Calibre problem.
I think it may be because I rolled back my distro to 24.04 when I had
some earlier issues and then re-installed 25.10, when that didn't really
solve the problems. I'm eagerly awaiting 26.04 in the hope that it will
fix a few things
