Hello! We are now very close to next DoudouLinux release. Looking at the list of bugs and tasks, we have closed/done many of them and only few bugs remain open and could certainly be quickly closed:
https://gna.org/bugs/?16890 has a workaround https://gna.org/bugs/?16892 is still needing further investigations https://gna.org/bugs/?16925 just requires online documentation be updated https://gna.org/bugs/?16943 has a workaround https://gna.org/bugs/?16951 should be fixed and needs testing https://gna.org/bugs/?16952 should be fixed and needs testing https://gna.org/bugs/?17027 seems fixed Moreover only 2 tasks still need testing (https://gna.org/task/?7161 and https://gna.org/task/?7237), all the other ones are marked as done. As a result I propose the following road to next release: 1. test and close (or postpone?) remaining tickets before Friday 2. fix translation files that need fixing during the next 2-3 days 3. complete online documentation update until Friday night 4. upload during the week-end new CD builds that are expected to be the official release (this now lasts 24h) 5. prepare the website banner for Monday 6. validate new builds on Monday/Tuesday 7. publish the official new release in the middle of next week 8. start advertising about this new release with its new killer feature: web content filtering It seems we're just on time :). Languages that will be offered as officially supported are: Arabic, English, French, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish and Ukrainian. Demo languages will be at least German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Turkish. Concerning online documentation, we need: * to publish the article “Parental Controls” and its translations so that it will be available in the PDF dacumentation * to translate the new page “Where does DoudouLinux goes?” but it needs rereading before * new pages concerning the new hardware issue report tool and screen settings * to update some pages, the list of bugs/tasks marked as done should help finding which information need updating As I will not be much available until Thursday evening, maybe Marian can start new pages (in English) as Sergey can list pages needing updating. To conclude note that languages that started recently will have CD/USB image updates after 2010-11 is out as soon as the additional work achieved worth a new build. So no need to hurry up and provide lots of translations, they will be added on the flow! Cheers, JM. _______________________________________________ Doudoulinux-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/doudoulinux-dev
