Ok. I dug in and built a search that essentially treats the
banner/logo as a toggle between "buttons" and the search box. The
default state is, of course, the search box; and when you click a
"button" it switches back to the search-box display.

In order to do this type of search, however, it was necessary to
provide object hooks into the search.htm. I've tried to make it as
modular as possible, in that it provides methods to set the contents
of the view-port and toggle display programmatically - I can't think
of any other uses offhand, but these exports could be used by other
search authors that wanted to be able to 'play' with the view-port.
For example, an addin could then be authored that polled a POP server
for messages with a certain subject or sender and then flash a graphic
in the DQSD area when the message arrived.

It's not without bugs, though. :\
The way it's currently created it hides the menu button (curiously
named "gobutton") and the search box, and if you attempt to use a
search that attempts to change their values it will raise an error -
since it's not visible. It may have issues with events that expect the
box to be avilable as well (like alarms or what not). I'm working on
this part right now.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to make this a mousers toy (I just
want it to be very effectient when I *do* use the mouse), but I don't
see any harm in going this route. Thoughts?
