Steve Bennett at Great Planes Aircraft sells a geared starter.
He asks that you send him your HAPI starter so he can match the attach
bolt holes. 

I have the same problem with my HAPI starter.  Right now I'm trying to
solve the problem with a bigger battery.  If that doesn't work then I'll
probably work with Steve Bennett.  But, I'm always interested in others
ideas.
