Drakelist de PA2DW,

I agree that a one dollar microphone can make a good rig sound bad. A good
microphone that suits ones voice, still can make a lousy radio sound rather
nice though!

My personal preference is the Shure 444. I have used the 444 with the T4XC
and got excellent reports. My voice has mostly low frequencies, so guess
that should be the best microphone for that type of voice.

Also on the TR7 I got excellent reports with the 444, but strangely enough,
not with the Drake (Astatic..) 7075. With that microphone I get heavy "bass"
reports. So that microphone is now standing here collecting dust...
Anyone has a tip how to get this microphone produce more high frequencies?
Also would be interested in a trade with a 444(D) if anyone is interested?

Best 73, Dick PA2DW
