I recently took possession of several radios from the estate of a deceased ham radio op.

While the highlight of the pile of loot was a Drake low pass filter, there were a number of rice boxes (IC-726, TS-450S and DX-70TH).

The previous owner was a smoker and the radios all smell of such. Some were longer in his possession than others which means the layer of nicotine is thicker than the new items. These are the first nicotine-soaked-rice-boxes (or anything for that matter) that I have ever had in my possession.

The question is.....any idea on how to clean this stuff? The smell of smoke is quite noticeable. A quick cleaning with a j-cloth and water cleaned off a layer of dust and some of the easier to clean yellowing.

Again.......anybody have any thoughts on how to clean these things? Several other items such as some MFJ tuners, etc....
