The plate meter is connected in series with a "selected" calibration resistor, across a 3.3 ohm resistor connected between the final tube cathodes and ground via a contact on the T-R relay. There are switch contacts on the Function and Transceive switches between the resistor and the relay contact so they should be set to SSB or Tune and Separate respectively. The Driver and AM Modulator cathodes are also tied to the "bottom" end of the 3.3 ohm resistor in SSB and Tune modes, while the IF Amp and Mixer cathodes are added in the CW position.

When I turn my T-4XC on, the plate meter goes negative or to the left after warm up. When I activate the PTT the it goes up to about about 20ma's. The tubes check out OK and the power supply voltages are correct. I am at a loss as to where to look next. Can anyone help? Terry, W8NJR
