Like illegal drugs, there is only a supply if there are buyers to be had.
And as long as there are folks who either need to restore or feel
they have to restore old rigs, there
will always be a market.
The ease of buying/selling on the internet fuels the activity.
I was looking for the combo Brown Brothers padde/straight key....I
have the version with the leaf spring on the straight key and wanted
the more traditional straight key.
At over 200 bucks, I figured I'd just keep what I had....but if I was
a collector or absolutely HAD to restore it, yea, I might have
participated in the escalation.
The correction is on the way....I see houses near me that is less
than are year have dropped from 500k to 275k and they still aren't
sold....so, when the obscene amount of discretionary cash dries
cup....you might see reasonable prices again.
