Ted,
Well I am working on the audio now!!! I have only owned these shortly
and I absolutely love the receiver audio and the way it all operates.
If anyone else knows how they are supposed to sound, it would be a real
plus!!

Hello
This is often the case with drakes their audio is tinny sounding .
Mine are the same way R4B - T4XB. If anyone knows of a way to custom
tailor or pad the audio to let a few lows through I'd like to hear it.
I have had this discussion before with a few guys and they thought
that carrier balance could be off or the filters are not where they
should be or component values have changed over the years. If that is
the case I would not really know how to attack the problem .
Maybe someone who had a Drake new back in the day could tell the group
if this is just normal comm. audio..

Hello to all,
Just purchased a beautiful set of drake twins, r4 and t4x, they are
an absolute joy to operate. My only problem is with the
tx audio. I get reports of it being very trebly (if thats a word).
I am using a shure 444 with it. Hope to enjoy these rigs for a long
time. I sold a ts 2000 to purchase them and I am glad I did. Love
the vintage tube stuff!!
Tnx
