Seems to me that the mix you preset is actually somewhat acidic and cleans the copper by etching. Although it would work, and I have used a similar mix on copper weld wire so that I could clean it for soldering. I would suggest anyone using this be careful as the plating on the chassis can be very thin after years of exposure.

surface. The original laquer coating develops cracks allowing corrosion to set

whole surface.
