"Don" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Plastics are petroleum based, as are most lubricants. I am thinking that may be why they react with each other, and why lithium and such is usaully recommended. The 'Fluid Film' , like the lithium, is non-petroleum, but lanolin as you pointed out. I have had good use with it on othe plastics, such as the rollers on drawer slides, with very good results. Its also non-conductive.
anyway, also as you mentioned, your milage may vary ! Just thought I would mention it as its not so well known. Ron Wagner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The product you mention is, as best I can tell, lanolin from sheep. I use it on my lawn mower deck and a couple other places. Have never used on delicate items like electronics. I usually use LPS1 on electronics and things like micrometers and calipers. I have used LPS1 as "scratchy" volume control cleaner with good luck. I have not used it on the Drakes that way. The can says "LPS1 lubricant is safe on plastic, fabrics, rubber, paint and finishes." I have used it on the "balls" of my Drake 4 line PTO. It smoothed out my PTO. Your milage may vary. 73, Ron WD8SBB On Fri, 25 Jul 2008, Don wrote: > "Don" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > http://www.eurekafluidfilm.com/globals/faq.html > > It's been around for sometime, and really does work as well as their > website claims. > doesn't breakdown plastics, doesn't gum -up, doesn't dry out, repels > moisture, ect, ect. > I can vouch for it.
