George -

Does it have a couple of RCA jacks, vertical, next to the power connector that are unlabeled? If so it may have been modified for use with the TC-2/6 or other transverter.

If so, these jacks are used to interrupt the PA Screen voltage, and will need a jumper cable between them. Alternatively, just an internal jumper wire will also work. ONE jack will have +250 VDC on it!

If the holes for the jacks are there, but no jacks, then Al has hit on it, R26, 680 ohms, 1/2 W. This is the resistor that gets fried if the alignment trimmers are shorted to the chassis if someone uses a metal alignment tool to adjust them.

I am troubleshooting a T4XB I picked up at a local hamfest. Symptom is no
output, power supply works on another tx, finals draw bias current and respond
to bias pot, all tubes test good, can hear the
spot signal on the receiver. I have no drive or output. Resistance checks are
all nominal except on the agc side of V1 ( pins 7 and 8 are 65K and 85 K) the
associated 15K and 22K resistors are nominal.

I may not have the latest manual or schematic, the serial is 16913.

Anyone have any pointers?

Thanks
