Jim,
Although not perfect, for isolation I purchased a couple 1 KVA 220/440 to 110 
volt industrial transformers from Mendelson's surplus some years ago.  I wired 
them back to back and put them inside a wooden box.

I am sure there is some capacitive leakage, but my multimeter shows "nothing" 
with reference to the home power system..
