Probably will decrease the desirability somewhat. They are not black but a dark brown.

There is a well documented approach to renewing the sticky paint. Using a treatment with oven cleaner and a silicone sealant like amorall. http://www.wb4hfn.com/DRAKE/DrakeArticles/StickPaintFix.htm

Arnie,
Not exactly sure about the dummy load, but the TR7 (actually all Drakes) put out surprisingly low average power.? On a W4 with a "peak hold" adapter, my TR7 puts out about 160-180 watts.? On averages it looks like about 40 watts.

One question is where and how are you measuring the dummy load power?? In line watt meter, or voltage across the DL? ? What is the s/power meter on the TR7 saying for ant vs DL? ?

looks like another spam/scam getting through via someone's email address.

Personally I do not see how anyone can "make 12,000 a month" or
something to that effect unless you're a CEO with outrageous bonuses to
boot.

That's because the ALC in the TR-7 is more like that of tube rigs, there is no compression. It's strictly peak limiting, so the average power reading pretty much depends on your voice characteristics when the radio is properly operated. It's also one reason why the TX audio tends to sound so GOOD. More recent rigs have taken to using the ALC as a form of speech compression, which is NOT a
good thing.
