I also run Wolfenstein on a Voodoo3 2000 - It works fine & at first 
appears to give good framerates, but if there are many other player 
models/explosions etc in view it goes as low as 10 fps.

It is the same on windows with the wickedgl drivers that now come with 
them (the MP & SP 1.1 demos).

Changing the settings doesn't help much.

This actually doubly hurts gameplay, as on the beach in multiplayer you 
end up only sending 10 packets/sec so get higher latency aswell.

I assume that since the rate is reasonable on an empty beach It's the 
models / weapon effects that take the time.

Do you think these are processed seperately enough in mesa / the drivers 
to be optimised / quality reduced in a game specific hack of any sort?
