Howzit? <aceshardware>
First there was the merger announcement by Creative and 3DLabs and the disclosure of their upcoming 76 million transistor GPU this holiday season. Then SiS surprised us at CeBit with their new SiS330 series of DirectX 8-compliant 3D accelerators. As if that wasn't enough, rumors of Matrox's return to the 3D gaming segment began to surface. And who could forget all the speculation -- and seemingly more -- surrounding the Imagination Technologies, STMicro, and VIA triangle? But just when you thought things couldn't possibly get any more interesting, another old player in the industry, Trident, has re-emerged with a new DirextX 8.1 3D graphics accelerator. </aceshardware> So up to five new GPU's / architectures which leads to the obvious question(s); Are there any plans to implement drivers for these cards? Have any of the manufactureres made an approach or started asking questions about DRI? Or is this all completely off the radar screen at the moment? I love competition. cheers Liam P.S this had better not degenerate into another (near) flame fest carrying on about deferred / software / direct (emidiate) rendering, where people start mixing up their hardware concepts. <g> _______________________________________________ Dri-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/dri-devel
