That's expeceted, the only way to find out the version of the xaa module
is to try loading the new version and if that fails the old one.

No it doesn't, actually... this really smells like the layout of the
XAAInfoRec struct has changed between compiler versions, it would be
interesting to see if a binary snapshot built with the same compiler as
the rest of the X server has the same problem.

Hmm, I committed the last XAA changes (trying to fix the
incompatibility) on the 24th...
