Views are fine for collecting information, but we need the information
provided as base tables first to the views.
Three routes:
1) Go through SE (keep in mind, and I_S writer would know nothing
about this)
2) Write Table functions and use those (which are at their core.. an SE)
3) Hack a special path into the optimizer.
I'm for either 1 or 2.
