Tim Donohue updated DS-584:
---------------------------

    Attachment: start-handle-server-QUICK-FIX

All,

In order to get the handle server working on http://demo.dspace.org (which is
running 1.6.1 on Ubuntu), I created a "quick fix" version of the
'start-handle-server' script. It essentially changes the
'start-handle-script' that ships with 1.6.1 such that it embeds much of the old
'dsrun' 1.6.0 functionality within it (this was Stuart Lewis's idea -- just got
to it before him).

To try it out:
(1) Install 1.6.1 (obviously)
(2) Use the out-of-the-box 'dsrun' script -- no need to replace with the old
1.6.0 dsrun anymore
(3) Download the above attached 'start-handle-server-QUICK-FIX' script into
your [dspace]/bin/ and try to run it. It should start your handle server up
fine. (Note: this script still only works on Linux -- won't work on Windows)

This seems to work for me locally. I'm not sure if this is the best fix
long-term, but it seems to be a quick fix that will work.
