Bitstream level metadata is available via METS, DIM is just a representation of
the Item metadata record and only a small part of the overall "metadata
landscape" that makes up the Item representation in the METS Manifest generated
by the METS Dissemination Packager. You can use this via the crosswalks to get
at this larger metadata "set". Note we are looking at adding more capability
to rendering details about the DSpace Item in this area in the future.
