I understand -- someone else with a 1.7.1 instance may be able to reproduce the
issue.
I'd assume that index-update updates the indexes just fine, regardless of the
state of the Cocoon cache. However, in some cases DSpace will use the cached
version of a page instead of an up-to-date one. Your problem sounds to me like
this *may* be the case here:
- index-update updates the index, removing the author links.
- when the page is requested, DSpace uses the cached copy of the browse page,
which still includes the authors that have actually been removed.
- running index-init, or restarting tomcat, or some other reason causes DSpace
to regenerate the browse page rather than using the cached copy.
But this is just my theory -- no idea if this is what's actually happening.
