Mark Diggory commented on DS-881:
---------------------------------
Robin pointed out that this solution varies from Grahams recommendation to move
the profiles to the top level dspace-parent pom.
My concern with pushing them there is that the build from within dspace/pom.xml
will no longer package all the projects and instead will download them from
maven. While I support this as the mechanism we predominantly advocate in
deploying the Binary release, it is confusing in the source release where you
would expect all sources to be built.
If we chose to take that route, we would need to alter all documentation and
clarify that the build should always happen from the dspace-parent in such
cases.
So at this point there are two directions to go in.
a.) move the profiles upto dspace-parent
b.) leave them where they are.
Note, with this last commit and the upgrade of dspace-pom to clear out
inconsistencies there, we now have a functional Maven 3.0 build in trunk.
