Hello Francis, removing all members from a group should not have that effect. The resource policy is still in place.
How did you restrict the access? There are two setting in a Collection DEFAULT_ITEM_READ and DEFAULT_BITSTREAM_READ From these an item's default resource policies are derived. Setting DEFAULT_ITEM_READ to other than anonymous will result in both the item and the bitstream being accessible to the group set. Settting DEFAULT_BITSTREAM_READ will leave the landing page accessible and only restrict the bistreams. These settings work only during ingest, changing them will not affect existing items. Did you at any time use the advanced policy manager? There is one scenario where policies are not properly set see https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-3411 Hope this helps Claudia Jürgen Am 14.07.2017 um 16:57 schrieb Francis Brouns:
Hi all, I just noticed that in our DSpace 5.4 server (JSPUI) collections that were restricted to a certain group now are publicly available. Is it possible that removing all members from a group results in the collection c.q item to become publicly accessible? In the meantime I have added members to the group, but the collection and its items still remain publicly accessible. kind regards, Francis Brouns
