exactly, there are no policies for Anonymous. 
READ, DEFAULT_ITEM_READ,  DEFAULT_BITSTREAM_READ are set to my group

We never have used IP based authentication.

Anyhow, not sure what exactly happened other than that I have added 
e-persons to the group, but the next day I received a notification of 
changed items that included this particular collection and items no longer 
are publicly accessible.
