Fran:  The Japanese stations are not linked.   Linking is done via Dplus.
They do not have Dplus yet.    This will all work out with time.   Give it
some time.    These stations are putting your repeater module in their
"YOUR" call field.   If you put there repeater module call sign in your
radios "YOUR call field behind a "/" you will have two way communications
and then you can actually talk with them.

Unlinking on our system does no good. We have a script that runs and the
link will be automatically re-established.

The answer to the why question cannot be answered here.
