Just another data point, I've pulled my hand held out in many airports, including while traveling home from India a couple of weeks after 9/11/2001 and never had any issues. Your mileage may vary. Once or twice, I've been asked about it at security (probably < 2% of my travels) and I used to be quite the road warrior, never asked to produce a license -- we should not live in fear. -- John D.
