Good point John,

It reminds me of a feature that was included in some update on G2 that
results in an immediate update of the gateway's local database when
hearing a call from an outside station.

This feature is interesting as it compensate for the lack of
responsiveness of the database update process so to make roaming a little
easier. I have used it many times with "local" stations and it should
indeed work with any callsign that's registered with USROOT.

If a japanese call sign (registered with USROOT) calls us, our gateway
will update it's local database with the actual gateway/repeater the call
is originating from. The only difference between these guys and us is that
their gateway does not update USROOT. As a result, their info is lost on
subsequent update of our local database by USROOT. So although one can not
route by callsign as a general rule, OneTouchReply should indeed work.

Eager to hear a RF call from Japan.

Thanks John.

P.S. If I'm correct, Japanese gateways are not running G2, so the reverse
is not possible; they can not OneTouchReply on us calling their systems.
