in a better answer there is a way, but I will ask for William Stillwell
to explain it, at least on the dstar-gateway email group. I am not sure
if he is on this one, but never less, I will email this to him as well as
you directly

REF: CABINET TEMPS. (this is probably a lot more easier for you...)

Plus it is more on the lines of what your asking.

Answer is YES, there is a way, and it is being done.

Subject: Re: [DSTAR_DIGITAL] ICOM DSTAR Repeater Temprerature?

Short answer - No.

Slightly longer answer. A typical D-STAR repeater installation also
includes a gateway. The gateway is a full up Linux server. With that
server you can put any monitoring capabilities you want at the site (we are
looking at putting web cam on a repeater site here as it is at a remote
mountain top) and have it travel through the Internet to whatever location
you desire.

So if you are looking purely at an Icom D-STAR repeater and controller, with
no gateway, it is not available (though someone could probably figure out a
way - I have a couple of ideas in that area), but if you have the gateway,
its pretty easy to create all manner of monitoring and control.

I was asked if a ICOM DSTAR repeater or the controller can "report"

I know many analog repeaters can. I looked at a ICOM DSTAR repeater rack for
about 5 min. And did not see many external connections for such.

Is there a way to report internal temps remotely?

Thanks
