Hi Simon. I've already tried converting the data line on the HM-133 mic to TTL and RS-232 with only rubbish being shown so it's not using RS-232, it may be using ASCII but flow controlled differently. I've done some enquires with the company mentioned on the thread as I'm owed a favour from them :)
The chip in the MIC is a PIC so the communication protocol shouldn't be too convoluted. Gavin, M1BXF.
