Given that this would be simple to implement over the non Icom parts of the network, this would be interesting to experiment with. 4800 bps of data only would be interesting. Now, the next question is whether we would have to follow the Ethernet framing, or whether we could define the data stream as we see fit. Packet headers can add considerable overhead under some circumstances, and then there's the overhead of changing over for ACKs. For some applications, a raw data stream might be a better starting point. For others (e.g. IP based data), packets are better. 73 de VK3JED / VK3IRL http://vkradio.com
