I think I bought one of the last new 280c's to be found. It came from the
factory in a 12/500 configuration. Incidentally, as recently as a couple
of years ago you could find ads for 1 GB SCSI 2.5" IBM drives (I think the
PowerBook Guy had them), but you don't see them anymore.
I thought that the coming of System 8.5 and the disappearance of 2.5" SCSI
drives would spell the demise of my 280c, but I have to say it's wormed
it's little way into my heart and habits. I've grown especially fond of
the fact that I've settled on a stable software set, and since almost
nobody's doing software updates for the 680X0, I'm not on the continuous
upgrade/debug/upgrade loop I was on with my 2400. Now I just have to
decide between 8.1 or 7.6.1 + OT 1.3.
